Meet Dr. Wilson
Dr. Wilson received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, which is ranked as the best dental school in the country. While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Wilson completed his Bachelor's degree in just three years and graduated at the top of his dental school class.
Dr. Wilson was inducted into the prestigious national dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon just prior to graduation as a result of scholastic and academic achievement. Immediately following dental school, Dr. Wilson completed an intensive three-year orthodontic residency program at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
While at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Wilson earned a certificate in orthodontics and a Master's degree in dental sciences. During his senior year, Dr. Wilson served as chief resident. In this leadership role, Dr. Wilson led residents in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning seminars. The University of Tennessee's orthodontic residency program is the oldest in the south and is considered to be one of the top orthodontic programs in the country with a special emphasis on clinical orthodontics.
During his residency, Dr. Wilson's research was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics - the most prestigious journal in orthodontics. He was the recipient of the Dr. James Powell research award for his research contribution. Dr. Wilson received international recognition at the American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting for his treatment of a very complex patient.
Dr. Wilson is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Tennessee Dental Association. Dr. Wilson is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Outside the office, Dr. Wilson loves to spend time with his family at their family farm. Dr. Wilson enjoys all forms of exercise including running, biking, swimming, weight training, and martial arts. When the weather is not conducive to being outside, Dr. Wilson enjoys reading good books and playing retro Nintendo games.
